Emmy madness has returned! [Thursday Jul 16th '09] vibrantsarcasm The Emmy nominations were released this morning. I literally woke up and went, "OMG IT'S EMMY NOMINATION DAY!" It was like, Christmas morning for an 8-year-old who still believes in Santa Claus. I felt a little silly after I did that, but I have been waiting to see these nominations for months now. I've been speculating for weeks on the chances of Battlestar Galactica and Friday Night Lights making an appearance in the main categories. I knew it was a long shot, but Connie Britton, Kyle Chandler, Mary McDonnell and Edward James Olmos deserved to be nominated for the outstanding work they do/did on their respective shows. And the shows deserved to be nominated themselves. Of course, none of them were nominated and I'm really upset about it. But, BSG was nominated for five other awards, including Best Director for Daybreak (Part 2), which made me happy. The webisodes were also nominated ... against Dr. Horrible!!! Anyways, aside from my depression about BSG getting snubbed one final time (I really thought it would be like Lord of the Rings and get nominated and WIN for the final installment. But, alas, the Emmys still refuse to acknowledge the truly great - meaing Buffy and cast, as well as Lauren Graham and Kristen Bell.) I am very excited for some of the nominations: Neil Patrick Harris was nominated for the third year in a row for his portrayal of Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother Jim Parsons was nominated in the lead actor category for a comedy for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory (OMG SUPER DUPER TOTALLY FREAKING OUT EXCITED) HIMYM was nominated for Best Comedy! Kristin Chenoweth was nominated for her portrayal of Olive Snook on Pushing Daisies Jeremy Piven was NOT nominated, which means NPH is the sure winner. The drama categories didn't do much for me since BSG and FNL were snubbed, so, yeah. ETA: Oh, and I saw HP at midnight on Tuesday, but I haven't found the right words to voice how I feel about the movie, but look for an update about it soon! (6 ) READ/REPLY
